July 2008We had a wonderful month, with a long weekend roadtrip spent in Orange County with Gary & Nettie, plus a weeklong visit from Nana, including a Nana & Juliana overnight trip to Prescott. Juliana has had a great time in her first swim classes of the year (especially with trusty buddy Eli by her side!), but it's thanks to Nana's tutelage that Juliana is swimming on her own – the entire length of our pool! She's also really enjoyed a couple mornings a week at Little Gym summer camp. Juliana’s favorite game (at least daily!) is “surprise party” – she makes hats, nametags, etc. and plans all sorts of activities. However, she doesn’t quite understand that the whole point of a surprise party is to actually surprise someone… the “guests of honor” she chooses are typically herself, or one of us, with absolutely no attempt to hide it. Sarah is just a delight, almost always in a good mood and willing to go along with the flow. She took her first unassisted steps this month, and by the end of the month, was stringing eight or so steps together before resorting to her failsafe mode of locomotion, crawling. She points at things constantly, and she's also started clapping! The last day of the month marked our 7th anniversary... wow, 7 years already? :) |
