September 2008September was an interesting month all-around, punctuated by Mommy's week-long absence to Malaysia for work. Daddy and the girls remained busy, with Juliana going to "Grandma & Grandpa Camp" for a weekend, leading her first "snack day" of the preschool year, visits with friends, trips to Daddy's work clients, and going to Juliana's first set of Parent-Teacher Conferences (with a great report from both of her teachers!). We all kept in touch across the globe via Oovoo video messaging. The first morning Mommy was back, she snuck into the playroom. Instead of surprise, Sarah's reaction was to simply look, and without skipping a beat, walk over and hand Mommy a peace offering of her plastic shovel. Gotta love that. By mid-month, our backyard pool was a bit too cold for regular swimming (at least for us Arizonans accustomed to bathwater-like temperatures), but Juliana continued her third session of lessons at the Tempe Kiwanis pool through the end of the month. Sarah was a little grumpy from time to time this month, owing to the two giant teeth bursting their way through her top gums. Juliana's latest funny preschoolerism is, "...and then I thought in my mind that...", followed by a random, cute, though sometimes not quite logical, pontification about life. |
